A MHP trooper who responded to the scene says the crash claimed the life of a Polson woman in her sixties. The vehicle then got pushed into the path of an SUV before it ran off the highway and overturned.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the mother was driving her boys over a narrow highway bridge southeast of Joplin Tuesday night when her SUV collided with a tractor-trailer driving toward them. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.

The driver of the Traverse, Leticia Verde, 32, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Multiple people died in a single-vehicle rollover along I-70 near Abilene, according to a Tweet by Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Gardner.
