ESPN said that on-air personality Katie Nolan was reprimanded after she called President Donald Trump a "f*****g stupid person" while appearing as a guest on a Viceland show.

The diss came during a discussion about hand gestures associated with white supremacists. with Katie saying Trump uses the thumbs-up emoji simply because he's "stupid".

The policy applies to ESPN employees on social media so Nolan didn't technically violate the guidelines since she was not posting online.

ESPN apologized for Hill's comments but didn't fire her.

Antonio Conte Snaps At Arsene Wenger And Jose Mourinho
The question that comes to him comes to him wrong and because of that he has that out-of-control reaction. I think Mourinho might be suffering from dementia.

While some people may be offended by the nature of Nolan's comments, it's unlikely that she will face any severe punishment due to the platform and tone of the appearance.

In the fall, ESPN implemented new social media guidelines for its staff stating that employees should avoid "personal attacks and inflammatory rhetoric" and 'refrain from overt partisanship or endorsement of particular candidates, politicians and political parties, ' Sporting News reported.

At ESPN, apparently anything goes as long as the vitriol is directed at President Trump.

Late past year, SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill was suspended for multiple violations of the network's social media policy after criticizing Trump and referring to him as a white supremacist. After Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told his players they would be benched if they did not stand for the national anthem, Hill tweeted that NFL fans could choose not to patronize the team's vendors and advertisers. Her new podcast for ESPN is expected to launch on January 10.
