According to Asus, though, its notch is 26 per cent smaller than that on the iPhone X, allowing for a more significant 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio and a larger 6.2in screen size. Asus will release the Zenfone 5 Lite in March, followed by the Zenfone 5 in April and then the Zenfone 5Z in June. The only details known are that two of the smartphones to be launched would be named the Asus ZenFone 5 Lite and the Asus ZenFone 5 Max.

Like the just-announced ZenFone 5, the 5Z uses artificial intelligence to recognize the scenes you're shooting and adjust the camera settings accordingly.

The design is slick and trendy, but that's no surprise - it's twinning with Apple's gorgeous iPhone X.

Today during MWC 2018, Asus unveiled its ZenFone 5 trio of devices.

The biggest surprise is the price, as the flagship Zenfone 5z is likely to start at €479, which is a decent price for a flagship smartphone with Snapdragon 845 SoC, and should give other players a run for their money. Asus has also done a good job to ensure that the notch that houses the front camera doesn't impact usability.

Now, as far as audio is concerned, the ZenFone 5Z sports two 5-magnet speakers with dual NXP smart amplifiers.

16-megapixel rear, 20-megapixel, 120 degree wide-angle rear front. The phone also holds a solution if you're anxious about overheating from heavy use, with four 0.06mm thick carbon fiber cooling pads that reduce the heat from the Snapdragon 845. This is created to reduce the effect of age on the battery by adjusting the charging rate depending on how you charge your phone.

The glass back of the phone is pierced by the dual cameras and a fingerprint sensor. The newly launched ZenFone 5, unlike the ZenFone 5Z is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled with Adreno 509 GPU.

NM past peak flu season, but virus still circulating
The Iowa Department of Public Health says flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches and fatigue. Now, FluMist is on the recommended list of flu vaccines, allowing insurance companies to pay for its use.

The top end ZenFone 5Z comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, but Asus has not revealed the pricing of others. A new ZenUI based on Android Oreo also comes pre-installed. In terms of storage, the lower RAM variant will come with 32GB of storage while the latter will have 64GB.

Externally, the suffix-less Zenfone 5 is identical to its faster cousin.

Powered by the Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform, ZenFone 5 Lite comes equipped with a 3300mAh battery and offers features like NFC, triple-slot SIM/microSD card holder, rapid face unlock and fingerprint recognition.

The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with the ZenUI 5.0. The showcase confirmed an online leak: the ZenFone 5 will have a notch similar to what we've seen on the iPhone X. This makes ASUS the first high-profile brand to come out with a phone that obviously borrows the X's most distinctive physical feature. As of yet there is no clear information on which model will hit the Indian shores.

Among the many variations of dual-camera setups, Asus opted for a secondary wide-angle lens for the Zenfone 5.

The ZenFone 5Q comes with a dual front camera (20MP f/2.0 and a 120degree wide angled camera) and a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP main camera and a 120 degree wide angled secondary camera.

The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite smartphone comes with company's own Face Unlock feature.
