Ronaldo scored a brace for Real Madrid vs Eibar on Saturday, extending a superb run in the last two months as Los Blancos earned a 2-1 victory.

Ronaldo put Madrid ahead in the 34th minute after Luka Modric intercepted a ball from defender Aritz Arbilla and placed a flawless pass for the Portugal forward to control with his chest and fire in.

A second goal would have led to Real being in full control of the contest but within six minutes of the restart, Eibar were back on level terms as Ramis sent a header into the net from 10 yards after meeting Leon's corner.

Heading closer towards the business end of the season and with Madrid qualifying for the quarter finals of the Champions League, Zidane and the Madrid fans will be hoping to have Varane back sooner rather than later for what could be Real's only chance at silverware this season.

Ronaldo almost doubled Real's lead just before the break but goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović produced a superb to keep out Portuguese's effort from distance.

After almost half an hour, Real's coach Zinedine Zidane was forced to make the first change, bringing in Nacho for Raphael Varane, who left the field after a skull-to-skull collision with Kike Garcia. He's a different and special player.

Asia's biggest exporters bristle over USA tariffs, fanning trade war fears
South Korea, a key Washington Asian ally, is the third largest steel exporter to the United States, after Canada and Brazil. In his remarks, Wang issued one of China's most forceful responses yet to the looming trade actions.

That result sees Real gain three points on city rivals Atletico, though they are still four points adrift of second spot and Diego Simeone's side have a game in hand.

Tiny Eibar are in contention for a European place next season and made the better start to the game, with Zidane admitting his side struggled in the opening stages.

Zidane added: "Neymar is a very good player".

Isco and Kroos made way for Benzema and Lucas Vazquez with 19 minutes left but Eibar had two golden chances to score a second.

Real Madrid overcame a shaky performance to maintain their fine recent form to defeat Eibar 2-1 at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurua.
