Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], March 21 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin, following his landslide victory in the presidential election, and added that the two leaders "will probably get together in the not-too-distant future" to discuss the worldwide arms race.

Mr. Trump said they will likely get together in the not-too distant future to discuss the arms race, which Mr. Trump said is getting out of control.

Sanders also said Trump did not broach the topic of Russia's meddling in the USA 2016 elections. President Donald Trump is being criticized by Sen.

According to a White House statement, "President Trump congratulated President Putin on his March 18 re-election, and emphasized the importance of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula".

Her comments were notably tougher on Russian Federation than those coming from the White House.

The White House declined to comment to the Post on Trump's briefing materials, and the story noted that officials said it was not clear if Trump read the notes.

Trump continues to grapple with the shadow of the ongoing investigation into whether his campaign colluded with Russian officials during the 2016 election that sent him to the White House.

Crises in Syria and Ukraine were also discussed.

Martin '08 charged in connection with threatening Instagram post
The post was made eight days after a gunman killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. A day later when Martin was arrested , police found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, knife, and ax located in his vehicle .

"We will do everything to resolve all the differences with our partners using political and diplomatic channels", Putin said Monday. "John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, blasted Mr. Trump's decision to congratulate Putin on his "'election'" victory. "The leaders spoke in favour of developing practical co-operation in different spheres, including on questions of how to ensure strategic stability and fight global terrorism", the Kremlin said in a statement.

He said Trump had "insulted every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election to determine their country's future".

"We will never allow anybody to have anything even close to what we have", Trump said.

Even as Russian Federation continues to flaunt new weapons and military technology, Trump seems far from anxious and expressed confidence in the current USA military stature. "Russian relations", the Kremlin statement said according to The Washington Post.

The Kremlin said their conversation was constructive, businesslike and focused on overcoming the accumulated problems in Russia-US relations.

Talk of an "arms race" has increased since Putin held a blood-pumping State of the Union this month, where he showed off Russia's newest nuclear weapons, blaming the U.S. for leaving the anti-ballistic missile treaty, and telling his audience: "They didn't listen to us then". Russian Federation has denied the accusations.

Trump and Putin last met in Vietnam during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel made customary calls to Putin but voiced their grievances with the Kremlin's current domestic and foreign policies.
