  • Seoul to send 160-member art troupe, including K-pop singers, to Pyongyang

Just recently, a North Korean band performed in South Korea. While the official repertoire is yet to be confirmed, the unification ministry says Seoul and Pyongyang will continue discussions via the communications channel at the truce village of Panmunjeom, for further preparatory arrangements.

The South Korean art troupe will be comprised of some 160 members.

The combined photo, provided by South Korea's broadcaster SBS on August 23, 2005, shows South Korean pop singer Cho Yong-pil (L) holding a performance in Pyongyang.

In 1985, South Korean musicians held their first concert in Pyongyang as part of cultural inter-Korean exchanges.

Since 2003, Red Velvet will be the first all-girl group performing in North Korea after Baby VOX. They commented on their participation, "We are honored and happy to attend a meaningful event".

Male pill could be on horizon as trials yield positive results
The drug blocks sperm production through a combination of an androgen - a male hormone such as testosterone - and a progestin. Dr Page said longer term studies are now underway to confirm that when taken every day, DMAU blocks sperm production .

This, too, will be Red Velvet's first time to go to Pyongyang. The singer and producer Yoon Sang will direct the big event. "We will prepare well to showcase great performances".

Their good relationship has been ignited by the recent Winter Olympics. In the 2000s, various Korean pop singers, including Cho Yong-pil, regarded as a contemporary Korean pop legend, and idol groups, performed in the North's capital. The meeting of the South Korean delegates and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un earlier this month also plays a major role.

The North sent its own art troupe to South Korea to celebrate the the Olympics last month, with 140 members of the Samjiyon Orchestra staging two performances.

The visitors will hold two shows in Pyongyang, one at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, which was the backdrop to a landmark performance by the New York Philharmonic in 2008.
