Dutch Police Make Arrests as England Fans Run Riot in Amsterdam

Six England fans remained behind bars Saturday along with two Dutch supporters after over 100 people were arrested in ugly clashes before a friendly global match in Amsterdam.

Police chiefs have spoken out against the behaviour of a section of England fans after more than 100 of them were arrested in Amsterdam this week, per BBC Sport.

Nearly 60 fans were detained after clashing with riot police in the city's red light district.

The statement said the 25 "drunken" fans were detained for "various offences" which included beer bottles being thrown at police officers.

The Netherlands hosted Gareth Southgate's Three Lions in an global friendly on Friday night.

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard scored England's goal.

A total of 27 members were suspended for their behaviour in Dortmund.
