Mohammed Shami met with a road accident on Sunday and his India teammate Rohit Sharma came forward to lend support. The accident took place after his auto hit a truck. The cricketer hurt his head and sustained some injuries. "Currently, he is taking rest in Dehradun", news agency ANI reported.

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently freed the player of all match-fixing allegations levelled by his estranged wife Hasin Jahan and was eventually awarded a Grade B contract. After going through mental torture for past 15 days, Shami wanted to get into the groove to rejuvenate mentally as well as physically.

"I have just received the confirmation from the BCCI that Shami has been absolved of all charges related to corruption allegations".

It is not clear if Shami was in the vehicle at the time as it was plying on road from Dehradun to Delhi.

Expanding further to Sky Sports, Ricciardo added: "I can agree with everyone that there's other penalties they could have used". Ricciardo, who was tipped as a contender for the win at Albert Park, felt wronged.

Shami got 3-4 stitches on top of his right eye. Shedding light on the current situation, Abhimanyu's father Easwaran RP told PTI, "Mohammed Shami is safe and sound". After releasing screenshots of Shami's alleged conversations with a number of girls on social media, Jahan went on to file a police complaint against her husband in a Kolkata police station levelling charges of domestic violence, rape among others against the cricketer.

He further added, "He is at a private place after being discharged yesterday only".

It need be recalled that Shami has been in the news for his ongoing dispute with the wife Hasin Jahan.

Shami has been booked under various non-bailable, including an attempt to murder, and bailable sections.
