For nearly 24 hours now, a standoff continues to ensue at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi following the return of Miguna Miguna from Canada where he was deported to.

After landing at JKIA on Monday at 2.30pm, Immigration officials insisted that Miguna present the Canadian passport he used to travel with back to the country.

Miguna is said to have been asked to apply for a temporary six months Kenyan visa before he is allowed into the Country.

On Feb. 6, the self-proclaimed general of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Miguna Miguna was deported to Canada after being arrested for swearing in opposition leader Raila Odinga as the people's president after two successive and tense presidential elections in 2017 resulted in the deaths of more than 100 people, according to human rights organizations.

The move to re-deport Miguna to Dubai on Monday failed after he refused to board the Emirates plane he had been bundled in by police.

Through his lawyers led Dr John Khaminwa and Nelson Havi, Miguna has named Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett, Principal Secretary State Department of Immigration, Border Control & Registration of Persons Gordon Kihalangwa, DCI George Kinoti among others as respondents in the case.

Trump moves to ban most transgender troops
In a revised directive, US President Donald Trump has said transgender troops are a considerable risk to military effectiveness. Reports have said it is still unclear whether this new policy will be enacted, and what the legal challenges will be.

His lawyer earlier today told Citizen TV's Wahiga that Miguna spent the night at a dark room where he was not given food or water throughout the night.

Where is Miguna after spending the night at JKIA?

The lawyers have requested the court to urgently intervene in order to save him from the continued prejudice since as a Kenyan citizen he is entitled to re-enter the country unencumbered.

Havi stated that GSU officers deployed at the Airport denied Miguna access to legal counsel. We have advised him not to sign the papers.

So what next for Miguna?
