The Italian has moaned all campaign about the lack of depth in his squad to fight on all fronts and directed his frustrations to the Stamford Bridge top brass.

Belgium have officially announced Courtois hasn't recovered from a hamstring injury and has left the national team group, sending him back to Chelsea.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was heavily criticised recently for his performance in his sides 3-0 Champions League defeat to Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

The 27-year-old has reportedly been a transfer target of Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are expected to make a move for the talented playmaker if he performs well at the World Cup. Then we will see what happens next.

Another player linked with a move away from Chelsea is Thibaut Courtois, however the goalkeeper indicated yesterday that he would remain at Stamford Bridge next season.

The former Lille star signed his current Chelsea deal in February 2015, since which the club have won two Premier League titles but also been through low phases under Conte and predecessor Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to Belgium TV channel Sporza, he said: "I've got one more year at Chelsea and I'm feeling good there".

"I have another two years contract with Chelsea where I am very happy".

However, ahead of Chelsea's crucial Premier League fixture against Tottenham on Sunday, the Belgian insists he is willing to sacrifice his favoured role for the good of the team.

I'd like for things to be clear before the World Cup.
