Corbyn spent several hours at the Jewdas event in Islington Monday, during which participants shouted "F*** capitalism" and mocked a recent protest against anti-Semitism in the Labour Party.

Corbyn's participation also led to sharp criticism from the Jewish community.

"We have to take that seriously, and we have to take every allegation of anti-Semitism seriously even if sometimes people opportunistically seize upon anti-Semitism as an issue to undermine Jeremy, it doesn't matter if that's the reason, we've still got to take the allegation seriously".

The two groups recently wrote to Mr Corbyn to call on him to take "personal responsibility" for tackling anti-Semitism within Labour and to publicly condemn those who claim the row is a "smear" and who vilify individuals or groups raising concerns about anti-Semitism.

In a tweet, Labour MP John Woodcock said meeting the group gave the message that "extreme views are OK".

Charity leader Ronnie Harris told Jewish News he left the party amid the latest storm over its handling of allegations of anti-Semitism. Which means: Jews... To make out that it's somehow anti-Semitic for him to spend Seder with them just because they're far left is balls.

Following the letter, Corbyn said he was "sincerely sorry" for the pain caused and he plans to meet with Jewish representatives in order to "rebuild" confidence.

Labour MP Thangam Debbonaire has been summoned by members of her local party in Bristol West to "explain her actions" for attending the rally against anti-Semitism in Westminster.

Zuckerberg has apologized for the events and said Facebook would look for possible personal data abuses by app developers going forward.

However Lansman, who is Jewish and a key ally of Corbyn, said Jewdas were "very much part of the Jewish community" and played down the significance of the Labour leader's attendance.

The group said: 'We are proud to be Jews and proud of everyone who attended, whether they were Jewish or not.

We conclude that he can not seriously contemplate anti-Semitism, because he is so ideologically fixed within a far left worldview that is instinctively hostile to mainstream Jewish communities. "Isn't that a good thing?"

In remarks that were implicitly critical of the Labour leader, Jon Lansman, the founder of Momentum, said this morning that the group's description of Israel as "sewage" was "not helpful" for efforts to tackle antisemitism within Labour.

Corbyn has promised an investigation into the allegations and Momentum, the fringe group backing Corbyn's leadership, admitted the party had "failed" on antisemitism.

In the recording, attendees at the Jewdas event can be heard booing the name of Jonathan Arkush, chairman of the Board of Deputies, the official body representing Britain's Jewish community, the report said.

Describing it as "a celebration of Passover, which I celebrate with young Jewish people from my own community and my own constituency", the Labour leader said it was "very interesting talking to a lot of young people about their experiences of modern Britain and I learned a lot".

Karen Pollock, the chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, claimed that Corbyn's meeting was "clearly deliberate".
