The alleged Canadian serial killer accused of burying his victims in garden planters is now facing a seventh murder charge, prosecutors in Toronto announced Wednesday. While he said there is no current evidence linking McArthur to the cold cases, they fit the general profile of the alleged victims identified to date.

Bruce McArthur, who appeared in court through a video link, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Abdulbasir Faizi.

As of Wednesday, authorities were still trying to identify some of the human remains found in planters at a Toronto property McArthur used as storage for his landscaping business, according to the Associated Press.

Idsinga said pathologists are working to identify the remains of at least one more person found on the property.

They are also reviewing 15 unsolved murder investigations dating from 1975 to 1997. It closed after 18 months as it did not establish the whereabouts of the missing men or resolve the circumstances on their disappearances, police said.

Faizi's auto was found a short distance from the house McArthur used as storage.

McArthur was already facing charges in the murders of Toronto residents Dean Lisowick, 47; Soroush Marmudi, 50; Majeed Kayhan, 58; Andrew Kinsman, 49; Selim Esen, 44 and Skandaraj Navaratnam, 40.

She didn't have the means or strength to support a child and was considering adoption. The couple fought back as the robbers were attempting to steal the vehicle keys.

And, on Wednesday, Crown attorney Michael Cantlon confirmed the accused serial killer now faces yet another first-degree murder charge for the death of Abdulbasir Faizi. Sgt. Hank Idsinga says releasing the image is a "last resort" to find the man's identity.

The 2016 interaction was the second time police spoke with McArthur in the years before he was charged with murder. The photo was released with the hope that a member of the public may be able to identify him. They went missing between 2010 and 2017.

Faizi was one of the men sought in the Toronto Police Service's Project Houston, which was launched in 2012 to investigate the disappearances of three men from Toronto's gay village.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, police suspect that McArthur was involved in the presumed death of a man who disappeared in 2013 while vacationing in Toronto.

"We've quite frankly never seen anything like it", Idsinga said.

In January, McArthur was arrested and charged with the murders of Esen and Kinsman. "I think it's easily set the record for a forensic examination of an apartment".
