Military strikes hit three targets: a warfare technology center and two chemical weapons facilities.

The action was in response to a recent attack in the town of Douma which killed more than 40 people and sickened hundreds more. The Western states have accused forces of Syrian President Bashar Assad of an attack with the use of chemical weapons in Duma.

President Donald Trump is claiming victory after a USA -led allied attack on Syria's chemical weapons program. He added, "So proud of our great Military which will soon be, after the spending of billions of fully approved dollars, the finest that our Country has ever had".

The new diplomatic push came after a stormy Security Council meeting called by Russian Federation, which branded the military action an "aggression" against Syria and sought condemnation.

This - is the suspected use of chemical weapons by Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad on his own people.

The airstrike, which the US military says was precise and targeted, aimed to knock out the Syrian government's ability to use chemical weapons.

"I think our own Government and anybody with any sense would condemn these strike on Syria as a very risky escalation of an already scary and disastrous conflict in syria", he said.

The three allies circulated a joint draft resolution at the Security Council that also calls for unimpeded deliveries of humanitarian aid, enforcing a ceasefire and demands that Syria engage in UN-led peace talks.

Syria Must Declare All Chemical Weapons Stockpile to Continue Geneva Process
President Donald Trump "enforces" the red line and the U.S. will sustain the pressure on the war-torn nation, she said. A UN Security Council vote brought by Syria's ally, Russia, and condemning the US-led strikes was rejected.

The US is "locked and loaded" if Syria uses chemical weapons again, America's United Nations envoy Nikki Haley said on Sunday.

The Trump administration offered veiled threats on Saturday about future military action and mixed remarks about the degree to which it believed sarin was used by Syria's government, which denies it used chemical weapons.

Foreign Minister Boris Johnson said there were now no plans for further attacks in Syria after Britain and its allies France and the U.S. launched air strikes on the regime's chemical weapons facilities.

In a UN Security Council session Saturday, American UN Ambassador Nikki Haley warned that the USA was "locked and loaded" to take aim at Syria again if Assad uses chemical weapons again.

Here are statements from some Congressional Leaders regarding the United State's joining France and Great Britain in conducting these attacks.

Sablin also said Assad accepted an invitation to visit the Siberian region of Khanty-Mansi in Russian Federation.

The supply of Russian air defence systems was not discussed, agencies reported, but Assad accepted an invitation to visit the Siberian region of Khanty-Mansi in Russia.

France, the United States and Britain planned to put forward a new draft resolution aimed at dismantling Syria's chemical weapons program, wiping out terrorism, demanding a ceasefire across Syria and finding a political solution to the conflict, French U.N. Ambassador Francois Delattre told the council on Saturday.
