  • Twitter is down for hundreds of users across the UK

This timing will lead many to speculate about what may have caused Twitter to go down.

According to downdetector.com, there were outages on the popular social media site reported in the United States, Europe and Japan Tuesday morning.

The website went offline at around 5pm, then came back online for some time and then again went offline.

Most of the reported outages in the USA appeared to be concentrated along the East Coast.

Salmonella traced in farm, over 200 million eggs recalled
Anybody in possession of affected eggs should not eat them, and should throw them away or return them for a refund. The FDA said the illnesses prompted an inspection of the Hyde County farm, which produces 2.3 million eggs a day.

Twitter users hoping to share their latest thought with the world are being confronted by a "something is technically wrong" page.

The error message reads, "Cannot retrieve tweets at this moment".

The outage seems to have hit Twitter across both platforms: web as well as app. The Twitter app on mobile shows error message when you refresh the feed.

As of 10 a.m.in New York City, almost 300 official reports have been made to downdetector.
