Avenatti was commenting on a previous look on the present by Giuliani, the previous New York Metropolis mayor who lately joined the president's authorized crew.

The skit, which also featured the versatile Kate McKinnon contributing an impersonation of Rudy Giuliani, revolved around Cohen trying to navigate a series of phone calls to handle the spiraling pubic relations fallout of the $130,000 payment to Daniels. Giuliani told anchor George Stephanopoulos on ABC News' "This Week".

'I would love to speak because we've done nothing wrong, ' he said.

"Why wouldn't you say, "Go in, talk to Robert Mueller, tell the truth"?" Giuliani said. "When I'm facing a situation with the president and all the other lawyers are, in which every lawyer in America thinks he would be a fool to testify, I've got a client who wants to testify".

"I firmly believe there is going to be too much evidence of wrongdoing by him and those around him for him to be able to survive the balance of his term", Avenatti said.

Kellyanne Conway, a counselor to the president, said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that Trump meant that he didn't know about the payment at the time it was made, not at the time the question was asked.

During a 2016 campaign rally, Trump disparaged staffers of his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, for asserting their constitutional right against self-incrimination during a congressional investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server. "I hope we get a chance to tell him the risk that he's taking", Giuliani said.

Stephanopoulos asked whether the president would plead the Fifth Amendment in this case, but Giuliani said he can't rule out that possibility.

Brexit War Cabinet To Hold Crunch Meeting On EU Customs Deal
Mr Rees Mogg also denied reports that Brexiteers had threatened to "collapse" the government if she accepts the customs partnership option.

Giuliani's latest interview comes after days of conflicting statements about the investigations into the president.

The cameo gave her the opportunity to tell Trump in a roundabout way what it would take to settle her dispute, which is a question many have asked while watching the suit unfold (answer: "a resignation), as well as to provide timely puns like, "I know you don't believe in climate change, but a storm's a-comin' baby".

Giuliani called the $130,000 Cohen paid to Daniels in 2016 a "nuisance payment".

But last week the President said Ms Daniels was paid for "false and extortionist" claims.

"I can't prove that".

He reiterated that the payment to Daniels was not a campaign contribution and that it was reimbursed out of personal funds. The payment has prompted complaints to the Justice Department and Federal Election Commission over potential violations of campaign finance law.

Cohen, who acted as Trump's "fixer", is facing a criminal investigation in NY, and FBI agents raided his home and office several weeks ago seeking records about the Daniels nondisclosure agreement. "It may have involved the campaign, doesn't matter, and it would've been done under any other circumstances, if there was no campaign".
