Here's What Mueller Asked Jared Kushner About During His 7-Hour Interview

As the application process was pending, Kushner's access was downgraded in February when White House Chief of Staff John Kelly ordered that officials with interim clearances be cut off if they hadn't received permanent clearances.

Speaking with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday, Lowell refused to repeat the exact questions Kushner was asked by the special counsel, but he did share the topics they discussed.

Jared Kushner had his security clearance restored Wednesday after it was revoked almost three months ago, according to a CNN report.

Kushner had to file three updates to his national security questionnaire, a form that guides the Federal Bureau of Investigation background check and asks for voluminous information about a person's employment history, finances, family, travel and other matters.

Whether the restoration of Kushner's clearance is somehow related to his cooperation with Mueller is not immediately clear.

The news comes as Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, lost access to sensitive intelligence in February because he was never permanently cleared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was operating on an interim security clearance, which only gave him access to "secret" level intelligence, The NYT reported.

While the Model S owner's manual says drivers should not use Autopilot on city streets, it does not prohibit them from doing so. Tesla still has dozens of open positions in everything from manufacturing to Autopilot software engineering.

The attorney, Abbe Lowell, made the revelation to The New York Times, which also reported that Kushner had been granted a permanent security clearance after more than a year of vetting by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"Having completed these processes, Mr Kushner is looking forward to continuing the work the president has asked him to do".

Kushner, who serves as a senior adviser on the Middle East and other issues, was among many White House advisers who had been operating for months without full security clearances. His initial security clearance application didn't list dozens of foreign contacts that he later included in updated submissions to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Even without a permanent clearance, the president's son-in-law had been allowed to see materials, including the President's Daily Brief, that are among the most sensitive in government. He submitted another addendum in mid-May 2017 detailing more than 100 calls or meetings with representatives of more than 20 countries.

Kushner attended a meeting in June 2016 with a Russian at Trump Tower during the campaign in an attempt to get disparaging information on Hillary Clinton, and he attempted to set up a "back channel" to the Kremlin during the presidential transition.

The White House said in February that Kushner's loss of top secret clearance would not affect his diplomatic activities, and apparently it has not done so. Carol Leonnig is an investigative reporter at The Washington Post, where she has worked since 2000.
