BT will now broadcast 52 games per season, at a total cost of £975m over three years, while Sky will show 128.

However, the action will only be available to their Amazon Prime UK subscribers, which is the online seller's premium service available for a fee.

Oh, and a one-off fee of £69.99.

For Amazon, the deal is the latest example of its expansion into the world of live sports broadcasting.

Package G, acquired by BT Sport, includes the rights to broadcast several fixtures from the split weekend, a new initiative that will create an opportunity for a mid-season player break.

You can do it the other way round to get that one-off cost down and avoid getting BT internet, but it will increase the monthly cost.

The best five of the seven United Kingdom broadcast packages for the Premier League were sold in February, with Sky paying £3.75 billion to acquire four, a 14 percent discount on its current deal.

The awarding of one of the two remaining batches of rights - four months after Sky and BT took the lion's share of the rights on offer - follows huge speculation at the time of the initial bid over Amazon's intentions, with analysts divided over whether the online giant would mount a bid.

Klay Thompson set to suit up for Game 2 of the Finals
I could be wrong, but I think these two games are going to be emotionally draining for the Cavs - and especially, LeBron James . That rang true again on Sunday when Green finished with six points, two rebounds, and one assists on 28.5 percent shooting.

Of course, if you are already a Sky Sports customer these prices are liable to be negotiated, these prices are for getting all the packages from scratch.

BT also announced it had picked up the remaining package of 20 matches on Thursday.

The league had hoped that these innovative packages - two chances to show all 10 games of a bank holiday or midweek fixture programme - would tempt the likes of Amazon, Facebook and Google into the market for live rights.

"This new agreement will continue that trend with a subtle change that further incentivizes on-pitch achievement and maintains the Premier League's position as the most equitable in Europe in terms of sharing central revenues".

Premier League Executive Chairman Richard Scudamore said Amazon was an "exciting new partner", and its Prime Video would provide "an excellent service on which fans can consume the Premier League".

In Ireland, the League has concluded the sale of 233 live matches per season split into eight packages of rights, the same seven packages of rights as in the United Kingdom and an additional package of 33 Saturday 15:00 matches.

Two of the seven packages of rights available had been left unsold in that last round of deal-making, with the EPL reportedly failing to get its original asking price.

In contrast, the Premier League will be delighted with this outcome after having secured a leading online giant.
