President Donald Trump set his sights on Harley-Davidson in a round of Twitter attacks on Tuesday, saying the iconic motorcycle company "will be taxed like never before!"

Trump said this while defending his recent decision to impose tariffs on the import of foreign products. The EU raised an existing tariff it had on the company's motorcycles by nearly five times in retaliation for the U.S.' tariffs on EU aluminum and steel. "We won't forget, and neither will your customers or your now very HAPPY competitors!" Harley-Davidson has denied a link between Kansas City and Thailand.

"Early this year Harley-Davidson said they would move much of their plant operations in Kansas City to Thailand".

Harley-Davidson spokesman Michael Pflughoeft declined to comment on the president's tweet.

At the event, Trump heaped praise on the company for manufacturing its motorcycles in the U.S. and being an iconic American brand.

Meanwhile, in order to intensify its sanctions against Iran, the United States has ruled out any exemption to India and Indian companies from carrying out any transactions with Iran.

Last week, India announced higher duties on several goods imported from the U.S., in retaliation to Trump imposing hefty tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.

Erdogan, seeking to cement presidential powers, leading in Turkey's vote count
They have said election law changes and fraud allegations in the 2017 referendum raise fears about the vote's fairness. If no candidate wins more than 50 percent in Sunday's vote, a second round run-off will be held on July 8.

To avoid paying a 31% tariff to ship motorcycles from the USA to the EU, Harley made a decision to move more production to its plants in places like Thailand and Brazil. Trump then threatened the company "will be taxed like never before" if they follow through with the move.

Once the news was out, President Trump rushed to Twitter to make his feelings known. "Hence, they were just using Tariffs/Trade War as an excuse", he said.

The company already produces some parts and bikes overseas, including in India and Thailand, where they would otherwise face high tariffs.

"A Harley-Davidson should never be built in another country-never!" To avoid raising its prices and risk losing business in the valuable European market, Harley-Davidson said it would shift some bike production overseas.

MrTrump ridiculed the company for building motorcycles overseas.

"It's unfortunate that such a strong Wisconsin company like Harley-Davidson has to bear the brunt of this trade dispute", Sensenbrenner said. Indian Motorcycle Co, which said it was America's first motorcycle firm, went bankrupt in 2003 but the brand was reintroduced from 2011 under Minnesota-based Polaris Industries.
