Netflix testing new 'Ultra Tier'

Netflix may be introducing its most expensive service tier yet with Ultra.

PhoneArena claims some Italian users are already seeing promotional material that describes Premium thusly, and that show the Standard plan, which now allows streaming across two devices simultaneously, being downgraded to one device. Would you upgrade to the Ultra tier of it became an option (and the only option with four simultaneous streams)? But that deal could be changing.

The trial, first revealed online by an Italian blog called TuttoAndroid, is now being advertised to some potential customers across Europe, alongside the Basic ($7.99) Standard ($10.99) and Premium ($13.99) tiers.

The Ultra plan may affect some aspects of the current Premium plan, according to PhoneArena. To continue streaming on four devices, you'll need to upgrade to the Ultra plan. I can only hope the Premium plan I'm already paying for won't be affected. That may sound exciting, but there's a downside: other plans might be losing screens, making this new pricing structure a sort of price hike in disguise.

LeBron won’t meet with Cavaliers in person when free agency opens
Coming off one of the best seasons of his career, James is one of the most sought-after free agents in the league's history. It is possible a combination of Harden, James and Paul could win a title, but the chances of it happening seem very slim.

But don't panic just yet. It's remains unconfirmed whether Netflix will implement the plan or not, but they certainly have some wiggle room to do what they want.

In the wake of being named the number one choice for TV viewing, Netflix has been testing out a new payment option.

She said: "We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time".

According to CNet, a Netflix spokeswoman said that the service is "testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix". The last time the streaming service increased its prices was last October, when the Standard and Premium plans were increased by $1 and $2, respectively. It seems unlikely we'd see another hike so soon, especially such a big one.
