  • Jim Jordan Denies Reports He Hid Sexual Abuse at Ohio State

"No one reported any abuse to me, if they had I would have dealt with it".

Two former Ohio State wrestlers say Jordan hasn't been truthful when asserting he was unaware of allegations that a now-dead team doctor was abusing athletes. Three former wrestlers including DiSabato told NBC News it was common knowledge that Strauss inappropriately groped student wrestlers during medical appointments and behaved lewdly when taking showers with them.

Jordan has repeatedly denied any knowledge of sexual abuse by former Ohio State team doctor Richard Strauss, who committed suicide in 2005. "The things he said are just not true".

Politico reported shortly before Jordan's appearance Friday night that six of the former wrestlers had spoken to the publication about the alleged abuse. Jordan lashed out at several of the accusers, suggesting that they were con-men involved in fraud schemes and that this matter was political.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) questions FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy U.S. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein during a House Judiciary Committee hearing entitled "Oversight of FBI and DOJ Actions Surrounding the 2016 Election" on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., June 28, 2018.

"Conversations in the locker room are a lot different than allegations of abuse or reported abuse to us".

3 reasons LeBron James made the wrong choice to join the Lakers
The Cavaliers had hoped to re-sign James, who has appeared in eight consecutive National Basketball Association finals. Nevertheless, the Lakers aren't sitting on their hands after luring LeBron to Hollywood.

A spokesman for Jordan declined to say when he will sit down with investigators.

Jordan said he hasn't personally spoken with DiSabato since late March or April.

More immediately, Mr. Jordan has stepped forward as one of President Trump's most visible, aggressive and undaunted defenders in the House, helping lead a Republican counterinvestigation of those F.B.I. and Justice Department officials who are investigating potential connections between the Trump campaign and Russian election interference efforts.

An investigative team from Seattle-based Perkins Coie (coo-ey) emailed Jordan directly - but inaccurately - in May. In a video shared with NBC, former head wrestling coach Russ Hellickson said he confronted Strauss and told school officials.

DiSabato, whose allegations earlier this year sparked the investigation into Strauss' tenure at Ohio State, called Jordan a "liar". Jordan's rep countered this, demanding "that they send us the supposed communication" and noting Jordan remains "willing to assist". "We all did", Dailey told NBC News.

Vitter appeared to be referring to a report published Thursday by the conservative Daily Caller, which noted two of Jordan's accusers, Mike DiSabato and Dunyasha Yetts, had histories of engaging in troubling business dealings. He recalled an incident where Strauss - whose locker was next to Jordan's - had dressed after a shower to leave the building, but then disrobed and went back in for another one after noticing a favorite athlete entering the shower room.
