While Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Kate's family wre all there, there were two guests missing: The Queen and Prince Phillip.

Catherine's sister Pippa, who is expecting her first child, was also at the special occasion with her husband James Matthews, along with their parents Michael and Carole Middleton.

Prince Louis, the third child of Britain's Prince William and wife Kate, has been christened at a small, private ceremony overseen by close family but without his great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth.

The event was presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby; he's the same Archbishop, in fact, who recently married Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and also baptized George and Charlotte at their ceremonies.

BBC reports that Middleton was overheard saying Louis was "very relaxed and peaceful", and joked to the archbishop that she hopes "he stays like this".

Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be there to see younger brother Louis's big day in the intimate surrounding of the oak panelled Chapel Royal.

The new robe was created by the Queen's dresser Angela Kelly.

The family the made the short trip back to Buckingham Palace for a military ceremony followed by a flypast, which the royals viewed from the balcony of the palace.

The christening is the first public event for Prince Louis since his April 23 birth in London.
