The United States Justice Department has announced charges against 12 Russian intelligence officers for hacking during the 2016 presidential campaign.

US indictments against a dozen Russian intelligence officers on Friday provided detailed technical evidence to back up allegations of Russian hacking and leaking of information to influence the 2016 USA presidential election.

The indictment, announced hours ago by Rosenstein, targets 12 Russian intelligence officers for engaging in a sustained effort to hack networks of Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, and Hillary Clinton's campaign.

In just over a year since his appointment as special counsel, Robert Mueller and his hand-picked team of prosecutors have filed nine indictments covering twenty individuals and three businesses, earned five guilty pleas, have two criminal cases headed to trial, and sentenced one person to prison. The 20 are four former Trump campaign and White House aides, three who have pleaded guilty to different crimes and agreed to cooperate, and 13 Russians accused of participating in a hidden but powerful social media campaign to sway United States public opinion in the election. "Pure stupidity", he said, referring to Mueller's probe. Presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani on Friday tweeted that the indictments are good news - Russians have been nailed, no Americans are involved, and it's time for Mueller to wrap up his "pursuit of the President".

"There is no allegation in the indictment that the Americans knew they were communicating with Russian intelligence officers", Rosenstein said. If that link is established, it would shatter the Kremlin denials of the Russian state's involvement in the US elections given that the GRU is part of the state machine.

Jason Kay, 49, also from Coventry, simply added: "See you in four years' time". "It would have been so incredible to win the cup". Croatia have qualified for the World Cup final , the first in their history with an extra-time win over England .

Cat and mouse: Though the indictment says they used hundreds of different e-mail accounts with fake names to handle Bitcoin payments and cover their tracks, investigators linked messages from "several dedicated email accounts" to corresponding transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain.

"Russia, if you're listening", Trump said, "I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing".

The indictment connects the officers directly to the Russian government, saying they acted in their "official capacity".

Mueller's indictment appears to mention the transaction, mentioning that in August, 2016, "the conspirators, posing as Guccifer 2.0, transferred approximately 2.5 gigabytes of stolen data from the DCCC to a then-registered state lobbyist and online source of political news". Trump complained about the Russian Federation investigation hours before the indictment, saying the "stupidity" was making it "very hard to do something with Russian Federation". "But it makes it very hard to do something with Russian Federation".

After a press conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May on Friday, Mr. Trump said he would address election meddling with Putin. "I did it. You got me.' There won't be a Perry Mason here", he said.
