  • FBI Agent Peter Strzok Scorches GOP in Testimony Fit For Aaron Sorkin Script

Strzok's hearing came about a month after Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz issued a report assessing the FBI's handling of its investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server.

Anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok lashed-out at GOP lawmakers during his fiery testimony Thursday, claiming his politically charged text messages were based in his "deep patriotism". Outgoing Congressman Trey Gowdy brought up that text and another in which Strzok said Hillary Clinton should win "100 million to zero".

Page and her former lover, Peter Strzok, are facing the hearings after text messages sent between the pair revealed their hard anti-Trump stance.

During the tense hearing, the Tennessee Democrat told Strzok, "If I could give you a Purple Heart, I would".

"The forensic examination was done by the ICIG and they can document that", Gohmert said, further charging Strzok "you were given that information and you did nothing with it". Democrats objected to Goodlatte's repeated attempts to get Strzok to answer.

Peter Strzok testified publicly for the first time since being removed from special counsel Robert Mueller's team following the discovery of the texts previous year.

"They behaved like children", Jolly said on MSNBC. The 2008 Republican presidential candidate has repeatedly challenged Mueller's appointment and claimed no collusion took place between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, while personally attacking Mueller and any findings of his probe.

Alireza Faghani takes charge of third-place play-off
The call that ended Dalic's nomadic seven-year journey came last year, when Croatia had a game remaining to salvage qualification. With Croatia just one game away from that reality we caught up with the mad Croatian fan from Brazil's capital Brasilia.

Strzok declined to answer a question from Republican Representative Trey Gowdy, head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, about interviews he conducted during the FBI's Russian Federation probe, saying the agency had directed him not to discuss ongoing investigations.

New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said he thought it was against House rules to impugn the character of a witness.

In one exchange, Ms. Page, who also worked on both investigations, said to Mr. Strzok that Trump is "not ever going to become president, right?" And my presumption, based on that terrible, disgusting behavior, that the American population would not elect somebody demonstrating that behavior to be president of the United States.

This is why the whole argument against Strzok and the FBI is absurd: Strzok and colleagues could have doomed Trump with one phone call, leaking the investigation into possible collusion with Russian Federation.

At one point, Strzok refused to answer questions, citing a directive by Federal Bureau of Investigation attorneys, leading the chairman to threaten him with contempt of Congress.

"It felt like a public lynching", Dana Perino, a Fox News Host and a former White House press secretary under President George W Bush, said of the Republicans' interrogation of Strzok. "There won't be a Perry Mason here, I don't think", Trump said.

The hearing exposed clear partisan divides in the House judiciary and oversight committees, as Democrats accused Republicans of trying to divert attention from Trump's ties to Russian Federation through an excessive focus on Strzok. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-New Jersey, said, "I have never seen my colleagues so out of control, so angry".
