Cohen secretly recorded conversation with CNN anchor

  • Former Playboy model Karen Mc Dougal says she had a months-long affair with Donald Trump after they met in 2006

Michael Cohen's decision to release a secretly recorded tape-in which himself and President Trump discuss hush payments to a Playboy model-has inhabitants of Trumpland anxious about a civil war between the two.

On Saturday, President Trump broke his silence over the recording, tweeting: "Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer's office (early in the morning) - nearly unheard of". Is this a first, never heard of it before?

When the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Cohen's office in April, it seized 4 million other documents, many of which have proven to be outside attorney-client privilege.

Cuomo aired a recording Tuesday night that Cohen secretly taped of a September 2016 conversation he had with Trump in which they discussed buying another woman's story of an alleged affair. When Cohen says, "Well, I have to pay -", Trump interrupts and says, "Pay with cash".

It comes after an interview released earlier this month saw Cohen apparently signal potential willingness to cooperate with prosecutors against his former boss.

Cohen's lawyer went on CNN to discuss the tapes, citing Trump suggesting cash to make a payment in the audio as something only "drug dealers and mobsters" use. That was shortly after now First Lady Melania gave birth to their son, Barron. The Enquirer had already purchased McDougal's account of her affair with Trump earlier in 2016 and then never published it. Trump and Cohen appear to be discussing a second payment to McDougal (and there is no indication that it was ever made).

McDougal sold her story for 150,000 dollars to the National Enquirer which refrained from publishing the story.

Facebook hit by scandals, misses revenue and user growth estimates
Zuckerberg's paper losses come after Facebook revealed mixed earnings and slowing growth during the second quarter of 2018. The disappointing results came after Facebook has been embroiled in a data scandal affecting millions of users.

During the campaign, the Trump team denied any knowledge of the deal between McDougal and American Media.

At the very least, the tape suggests Mr Trump was aware that discussions were taking place to buy the rights to Ms McDougal's story. One key question: What exactly did Trump say about "cash" when Cohen brought up the financing arrangement? White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said this week "the president maintains he's done nothing wrong".

Lordy, there are tapes-along with a whole new wave of media questions about Donald Trump, his veracity, the break with his former lawyer, and his current lawyer saying "the president is not an idiot". Despite the comments, the recording was leaked by CNN on Tuesday evening.

During Mr Cohen's years, the Trump Organisation sought opportunities in some colourful locales.

The operatives also warned of the motives surrounding Cohen's attorney, Lanny Davis.

When the issue emerges in the conversation again, Trump asked Cohen "What financing?" while Cohen said "We'll have to pay". "The vast majority of the media is reporting this as if Trump said "Pay in cash" because it sounds more guilty if that's what he said". McDougal, who was Playmate of the Month in December 1997 and Playmate of the Year in 1998, alleges that she had a 10-month romantic affair with Trump in 2006.

Trump was outraged at the raid on Cohen in April, declaring on Twitter that "attorney client privilege is dead" on Twitter and calling the search "an attack on our country".
