Rapper Mac Miller Dies Of Apparent Overdose, Report Says

Upon hearing the news, Chance the Rapper tweeted, "I dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever".

In a statement, Miller's family confirmed the death, calling him "a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans".

Details of death: Died from an apparent overdose at his home in Studio City, California.

Miller's real name was Malcolm McCormick and he was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1992.

His debut solo album "Blue Slide Park" debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album chart in 2011.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa, who like Miller grew up in Pittsburgh and was close to him, tweeted on Friday: "Praying for Mac's family and that he rest easy".

Miller released his fifth album, Swimming, on August 3. Records, his first major labor. In 2014, he announced he had signed with Warner Bros. Miller was about to start a United States tour in support of the album on October 27 in San Francisco. The album debuted in the third spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Miller and Grande were in a long term relationship from 2016 until earlier this year. After their breakup, she voiced her concern about his health. After they split in May, he wrecked his auto and was later arrested for DUI and hit-and-run.

Last month the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office officially charged him with DUI in connection with a auto crash earlier this year in the San Fernando Valley. Starting in 2013, he starred in his own MTV2 reality series, "Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family", which ran for two seasons.
