Olivia Newton-John reveals third cancer diagnosis

  • Memories! Olivia and Didi have been friends for 40 years

However, there was more heartache for the star when she was diagnosed with cancer in her shoulder in 2013, after she was involved in a minor vehicle accident.

Speaking on Australian TV's Sunday Night programme, the singer-songwriter said she was using homegrown cannabis as part of her treatment to fight the disease.

She's cut sugar out of her diet and also takes tinctures of cannabis oil, made from marijuana grown by her husband. She said she hopes medicinal marijuana will soon become legal in her home country of Australia.

Newton-John is now treating her cancer with a combination of natural treatments. "I'm very lucky that I live in a state where it's legal and that I have a husband that's a plant medicine man".

Asked if she's scared, she said: "No, I don't go there".

Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, undergoing a partial mastectomy and reconstruction.

After beating the disease, she became an advocate for breast cancer research and treatment, opening the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia. I'd be lying if I said I never go there. She added: "I believe I will win over it, that's my goal".

ET exclusively spoke with Newton-John in February, where she opened up about battling cancer a second time.

"And we thought it was something to do with the accident, so, anyway, time went on more than that", Olivia reveals. I have nothing, really, to complain about'.

In her new autobiography Don't Stop Believin', she said that she strongly believes this will be her "final round" with cancer, even though she will have to monitor her health for the rest of her life.

"She told the show: "'There are other people out there doing much, much worse than me.

"I live in a attractive place, have a wonderful husband, all these animals I adore, I have an incredible career - I have nothing really to complain about".
