I don’t exactly like doing personal posts, but seeing that I have been away from this blog for so long, it is necessary.
So I have been away from this blog because I had examinations and I needed to focus. Over time, I have learnt about priorities and focusing all my energy on one thing at a time so that I can get the best results out of it.
Right now, I am cutting down on a lot of things because I have too many projects I need to push out before the end of the year.
Have you ever been in a position where everyone tells you that something you believe in so deeply is outdated or is no more the norm? Or you want to do something and people start telling you how others are doing this or that. I was supposed to work with someone on something and when I told her about this project, she suggested that I did something else because this “something else” she was suggesting was the usual and it was easier. I was lost at what to reply, but after a slight pause, I told her I wasn’t after what was easier.
You see, I have learnt that not everybody or even at times, nobody buys your idea and it is very okay. As long as you see where exactly that path leads to and as long as you believe in yourself, you would be fine. You would be very fine. When it becomes a success, everybody would want to associate with it, and it is simply because even if they stepped back, they didn’t go away totally, they were just watching from a distance to see if you would turn out to be successful.
Getting more personal, right now, I am turning someone down because my beliefs and faith don’t align with his. He is a beautiful soul and a hopeless romantic, everything I could possibly want. I am beating myself up for this but I think my consolation is the fact that better things would come and they always do.
Anyway, I would be speaking at National Primary School, Akoka, Lagos on the 25th of May 2016 on “Why should I volunteer?”.
For those who don’t know, I am a Future Project Volunteer and I volunteer for most of The Future Project’s events like The Future Awards Africa amongst others. My talk basically aims at highlighting the importance of volunteering to you as an individual and to the society as a whole. I would be looking forward to seeing you there.
As for the blog, I am back with better and more entertaining posts. CHEERS!!!!
